Happy 4th!

On of my favorite things about the 4th is the fireworks!  I like the colors, the noise, the excitement, but mostly it's the memories!  Everytime we light fireworks it makes me think of when I was a kid and our whole family would watch the fireworks off the riverwalk in Idaho Falls and then go back to Grandma Rhodes' for popcorn and more fireworks.  She lives at the end of a circle and we would all sit in her driveway and play and watch and BEG for ours to be lit next.  My husband grew up in Alaska where it's daylight and they never really did anything spectacular, so I'm determined to get him to IF one of these years!

This year my kids got to do MY old tradition and lit fireworks in front of THEIR Grandma Rhodes' house!  I bought some glow stick, that were fun at first, but....  Papa Rhodes bought them their own kiddy packs and they were SOOOO excited!

It was really their first year.  We attempted Rushmore last year but... it was cloudy and we pretty much got colored clouds.   They were both a little scared of the sparklers and Tyton swore it was burning him.  So funny cause if it was he would have been screaming not standing still and saying slowly, "It is burning me. It is burning me."  A little creepy, but so cute.  They both got a kick out of the snaps and of course covered their ears for most of the big ones.   They were amazed and ooooed and awwwed in all the right places.  You could tell when they got tired.  Tyton said that he was to tired to sleep.  It was.... Epic!
